Brief
This was a personal project: a year of photographing dancers, which ended in an exhibition in Shoreditch, London.
Challenge
We photographed all kinds of dance at the studio. The aim wasn’t just to capture the moves, but to show what it feels like to be part of the dance, and the emotion the dancers put into every movement.
What we did
Rather than standing back, we interacted with each dancer and got involved in the movement. We kept the blur in the frame on purpose, because it shows the feeling that was there in the moment.
The result
More than 15 dancers took part over the year, and the project ended in an exhibition in Shoreditch.
