Book a shoot

Studio A, Kentish Town.

Always included in your booking.

Long white photography studio with lights, a wooden floor and coloured backdrop rolls

The studio

A working studio, not a hire space.

Studio A is about 700 sq ft on Holmes Road in Kentish Town. It’s my own working studio and it isn’t hired out, so when you book a session, the space is yours for the time we have.

It’s included in every booking. You pay by the hour for the shoot and never for the studio, so there’s no studio hire fee on top.

The space is set up for everything from a single ring on white to a band against black, a full-length fashion look or a whole team’s headshots, and the set can change between looks without stopping the session.

Settings and equipment

What’s in the room.

Backdrops
A motorised system with ten colours, from white to black, changed between looks without rebuilding the set.
Lighting
Bowens flash heads and continuous lighting, hung from a ceiling rail with three pantographs, so the floor stays clear for full-length shots and movement.
Shaping the light
Two black and white polyboards, to bounce light in or take it away.
Camera
Canon EOS R6 Mark II on a column camera stand, so the height and angle stay fixed across a whole range of products.
Hair and make-up
Two make-up stations with lit mirrors. Bring your own make-up artist, or ask me to recommend one.
Clothes
A handheld steamer for creases from the journey. Larger rails are best steamed before you come.
Comfort
A sofa, a sit/stand desk, wi-fi and a sound system for your music.
Phone signal
The studio is below ground, so signal is weak, but wi-fi calling and WhatsApp work fine.
