Frequently asked questions

Can you shoot at my gym?

Yes. I shoot in gyms and training spaces anywhere in London and bring the lights with me. It helps to agree a quieter time with the gym first.

Can you take before and after photos?

Yes. Tell me it’s a before and after, and I’ll keep the light, backdrop and pose the same so the two sets compare fairly.

How many outfits should I bring?

Bring as many as you want to use. Two or three looks fit comfortably into an hour, and the backdrop can change colour between them.

How much is a fitness photo shoot?

£95 an hour for shooting, with the studio and every image included. Retouching is also £95 an hour.

More about

Fitness Photography

Fitness photography for personal trainers and coaches

Personal trainers and coaches need pictures that look like the person clients will actually meet. I shoot portraits for your website and profiles, plus training shots that show how you work: a guard stance, a lunge, a lift held at the hardest point.

We plan the list around what you sell. A boxing coach needs wraps and gloves, a strength coach needs a bar or a rack, and an online coach usually needs a few clean, friendly portraits as well as the action. A few calm, relaxed frames are worth taking too, because a trainer who looks approachable is easier to book.

Lighting for muscle definition and physique

Muscle shows through shadow, so for physique shots I use hard, directional light from the side or above, usually against black. Softer, brighter light against white suits sportswear and lifestyle pictures, where the kit and the smile matter more than the cuts.

Most people look their best a few minutes after some light work. Bring a resistance band and do a short set before the key frames. I’ll tell you when the light is right for each pose.

Gym and location fitness shoots in London

Some pictures need real equipment around them. I can shoot in your gym, boxing club or studio anywhere in London, bringing the lights so the room looks dark and dramatic rather than flat under strip lighting. Let the gym know in advance, and pick a quieter time so the background stays clear of other members.

In the studio, a suspension strap or a bench is easy to set up, and the backdrop can change colour between looks without stopping.

Sportswear and activewear photography

For sportswear brands, the clothing has to move and stretch in the picture the way it does in a workout. Activewear looks right on people who actually train, so the poses are genuine and the fabric creases in the right places.

Bring every colourway you want shown, and the matching shoes. Photos and short vertical clips for Instagram can be shot in the same session.
